Assignment 9 - Will Blitch

War is often caused from disputes over territory/politics/property. If it is not because of these reasons then it is a battle of ideologies. When wars are caused over property they are almost always a pointless and selfish loss of life. For example World War I was born of territorial and political reasons and resulted in millions of deaths and did not accomplish anything. These are the kinds of wars that can never be justified. However if it is a war of ideologies then there is sometimes an argument to be made. For example the Cold War was because of a war of ideologies. it was the battle between Communism and Capitalism. The Vietnam War also came from this struggle. I think the only time we have the obligation to go war or at least help some one else fight a war is when the opposing force is violating human rights or oppressing a group of people.
