Assignment 7- Saurav Khadka
On September 19th, 1893, New Zealand became the first country to grant women the right to vote. This is a significant date because at a time when the women rights civil activism movement was growing and spreading throughout the world, this was the first result that the movement produced. This showed that the movement could succeed, and just like dominos, one after another countries began granting women the right to vote, with the United States doing so in 1920. This was a great result because slowly, but surely, the patriarchal societies that had long lasted throughout societies were beginning to topple. This paved the way for a more equal society. I very much appreciate the event because it began the creation of a more equal society, which I value highly.
