I chose to answer prompt number 2.

I am passionate about the state of the world, politically, international relationally, and socially. The conflicts and atrociousness going on around the world, like the Syrian Civil war and the migrant crisis, the great decisions that have effects on a global scale, like Brexit, and the rise of young and great nations, like Taiwan. These are the stories that amaze me, that interest me, and that make me want to have an influence in the world. I think I am passionate about this because it is about more than me and myself. It is bigger than any one individual. These are things that no one person can control. But, most importantly, these are things that are real. This will affect my future because I want to graduate with a degree in International Studies and go into the UN or some other NGO to help the world if I can. This will carry on with me into what I want to do in the future and will shape how and why I live the rest of my life like I will.
