assignment 3 Nick Walters

Being good or bad isn’t as clear cut as it seems. You can be a good person but still do bad things, or be a bad person but do a few good things. A famous example is Darth Vader in Star Wars. Throughout the 6-episode series, we see little Anakin Skywalker start out as good, and was known as the Chosen one with a lot of the Jedi elites. This person, who was supposed to be the one to bring balance to the force, then killed all of the Jedi knights and the padawans. This shows that Anakin, a seemingly good person, had the ability to do some of the worst things imaginable. This same person, after years of destroying innocent peoples lives in search for ultimate power, sacrificed his life to save the life of his son, and kill his master. This is an example of a “bad” person doing a good thing. So since Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader started out as a good person and ended as a good person, was he just a good person who made a lot of mistakes and did lots of evil things? That is up for interpretation and really depends on your definition of what makes a person good or evil, and if people can change from good to evil.
