Assignment 2- Paige Barricklow

My life would have been drastically different if I had been born 20 years ago. First off, I would probably not still be in contact with some of my friends who i moved away from or who moved away from me. When I was 4, I moved to Lexington from North Haven Connecticut. When you're 4 you don't really have a lot of friends who you want to make an effort to stay in contact with, but I had one named Rachel. When I first moved we wrote each other letters, but over time that became less and less possible for us to do and the lack of back and forth conversation put strain on an already long distance friendship. After that we started calling each other on Skype to keep updated. Over time, our schedules have become so crazy that we hardly have time to Skype, but because we got cell phones and social media we text often and keep updated through social media. I also have multiple other friends who I can only really contact through social media and text message. If I was born 20 years earlier I probably wouldn't be friends with Rachel or my other friends who live in other states.
I also probably wouldn't really know what was going on with my family, at least to the extent I do now. I keep up with my aunts, uncles, and cousins through Facebook and Instagram. If I was born 20 years ago, I wouldn't be as close with some of my extended cousins who live in different states.
