Assignment 9- John Felty

Throughout history there has been war, and throughout our history there will continue to be war. War is almost always used as a last resort to force change. Wars can be between just two powers, or a complex system of alliances forged against each other. Some people believe that war is unnecessary, but history proves that to be false. For example, the Revolutionary War was absolutely necessary in order for America to gain its independence. Another instance in history was in World War II, where the world needed to stop the growing Nazi Germany and other dangerous threats to the world.
However, there are certain times for war. One such time is when one country gains too much power and begins to do malicious things. War is necessary in order to prevent this from happening. Another time is to stop the growth of groups with malicious intentions. Wars can be effective in containing a dangerous threat before it can spread. But, we don't always need to go to war, and diplomacy should always be our first attempt at negotiating peace.
