Assignment 10: Ellie Phillips
I don’t have a seat partner to the right, but to the left I have the man himself, Shalom (J?) Saldana. As I’ve gone through my years at Henry Clay, I’ve also had the pleasure to know and befriend Shalom. He is basically fluent in Spanish, but he refused to take AP Spanish with me. He has the most adorable giggle. Shalom does not laugh, simply giggles. That is one of my favorite things about him. I respect Shalom because his family life is never easy, but I have never heard him complain. He gives me perspective on my life and each day I honestly feel like he makes me a better person. Shalom claims that he didn’t like Dance Blue last year, but I think he said that because he was afraid of dancing. This year I’m making Shalom go to Dance Blue again even though he doesn’t want to and we’re going to dance as part of neighbor bonding. From what we have discussed he will probably go to UK (on a full ride because he’s crazy smart) or to Michigan (because there is some scholarship that Saurav told him about). No matter where Shalom goes to college, he will excel. I don’t know why I feel that he’s destined for success, but he is too good of a guy not to be.
