On September 30th, 1934, the great baseball
legend, Babe Ruth, played his final game for the New York Yankees. Babe Ruth
was a baseball player considered one of the greatest hitters of all time and
was one of the first five players inducted into the National Baseball Hall of
Fame. He started his career under the Baltimore Orioles, but was traded to the
Boston Red Sox. He did great things in Boston, but was eventually traded to
their rivals in New York, the Yankees. This is the team he is most famously
associated with. Anyways, on September 30th, 1934, Babe Ruth played
his final game as a Yankee until being released and signed by the Boston
Braves. He went 0-3 in his final game which is an awful record; however this
does not reflect the legend’s career as a whole. Anyways, this led to his
eventual retirement from the sport of baseball, which saddened many of his
beloved fans. Babe Ruth changed the game of baseball forever, and will always
be remembered as a legend on the field.
