Assignment 10: Lena Ilagan

Lately, I have been sitting next to the lovely Caitlin Southworth.  Caitlin and I have known each other since middle school, but I never gave her much thought until eighth grade, when she would skip P.E. and come into the library during my student aid hour.  In that hour, she and some other friends and I would help out the librarian, Mrs. Calico, and just talk.  That was the first year that I began to actually like middle school, and simply talking to and bonding with her and everyone in our little group was a wonderful and one I will treasure for a while.

After middle school Caitlin and I both took Latin, which needless to say, was a regretful decision for the both of us.  Nevertheless, thanks to academy regulations, we both were forced to suffer in it together, and that experience brought us even closer.  By learning together in a tough environment, we bonded and began to recognize each other's strengths and talents.  As the years went on, we began to have more and more classes together, and we've been good friends ever since.

Personality-wise, Caitlin is a reliable, even tempered friend who is great to be around.  She always had chex mix on her and I would always have the pretzels and she would eat everything else.  One thing that is rather annoying, however, is the fact that she is never cold and always complains that it is too hot.  IT NEEDS TO END.

Caitlin's personal philosophy is a rather unique one-- she is a staunch nihilist.  She is apathetic about almost everything, and strives to "do the least she can to pass by."  Somehow, her idea of "scraping by" has gotten her quite far, and I wish her the best in her future.
