Tobias Cox - Assignment 14 - Flying Turkeys

Thanksgiving has always been my favorite holiday of all, and I don't even like turkey very much at all. I do love to eat, and I love to cook, although almost everyone in my family gets so stressed when they have to cook all of that stuff. Me, I would probably like to cook it all even if I wasn't cooking for anyone else. But, Thanksgiving is nice because it a holiday that purely celebrates being together - none of the complicating strings that other holidays have. In addition, it is an American thing, which is interesting. It is one of the few "cultural" things we share as Americans, and it is nice to have that nationwide connection. And, I must say I do find it reassuring that everyone is as hypocritical as I sometimes am, celebrating thankfulness and then shooting each other over black Friday deals. At least I will never sink down that low, which is comforting. Most of all, however, the break is nice and without all of the stress of Christmas and stuff, it is relatively relaxing. We cook a lot, and that is the only stressful thing. If only everyone could do what I do, just enjoy cooking for cooking and eating, don't stress about the cleanup.
