Assignment 14; Ben Schaeffer
My Thanksgiving usually starts with me waking up at around 10 A.M. I walk downstairs to see the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade being watched by my sister, mother and grandparents. I find it rather un-entertaining. I then "gobble" on some banana bread made by my sister in an expert fashion. Because Thanksgiving is a normal day, I usually go upstairs and do whatever I normally do. If I'm occupied, I'm happy. This could mean playing lacrosse, Xbox, cards, or making Ian look goofy in basketball. Sometimes I'll even read. Around three, we eat. My mom usually prepares turkey, potatoes, green beans, and some sort of casserole depending on her mood. The dessert is always an option of cake or pie. That is probably my favorite part. Afterwards, I spend time with my grandparents and watch some football. I don't have a single most fond memory because all my Thanksgivings have been special. Being around family out of state is always good for catching up. I know not to take it for granted because they won't be around forever.
