Tobias Cox - Assignment 13 - Cha Cha Cha Changes!
There is a serious problem in this country with confusion about a fundamental characteristic about one's self. Some people can't even decide how old they are. You got all these adults trying to act like children all of the time, you may think you're in the middle of some family sitcom on Disney Channel. So, after much deliberation, it has been decided that we are going to completely give children autonomy over all of their lives. Perhaps we have been raising them wrong - its obvious that many of them - that woman that insists on childish insults towards children, that man that cuts in line at the amusement park, that old hermit that has decided life is so bad that he just won't participate in life - don't even know how to function as real adults. Suck it up and be respectful, we always told them. Perhaps that made them do the opposite? I propose that we let children grow up completely by themselves. Perhaps if they're out drinking at the soft age of 7 years they'll realize that it gets old and quit before they become misanthropic annoyances to the rest of us mature people. Perhaps if children are out driving before they learn how to ride a tricycle, people won't be in such a hurry on the freeway. Perhaps if we let children curse, we won't have all these rude grown adults throwing childish insults at each other. So that's what I say we do, hand the reigns over the kids and let them get out of that "done-with-it-all" phase before we "respectables" have to deal with their crap every day.
