This image shows a 2-year-old refugee who washed up on the shores of
Turkey after traveling across the Mediterranean sea in September 2015 to escape
Syria. This picture is representative of a growing problem in Europe. Many
countries have limited the amount of refugees they will allow to enter their
country, forcing many refugees to travel across the Mediterranean- a costly and
dangerous journey. More than 2,600 people died
trying to cross the Mediterranean to Europe in 2015, making the area the most
deadly migrant crossing point in the world, according to the International
Organization for Migration. This picture shocked and deeply disturbed many
people around the world, as it shows the severity of the problems with the
refugee crisis, and Europe's unwillingness to help past a certain extent. It
troubled people that children as young as this were dying, and made people
question the humanity of the countries that were not helping with the
refugee crisis.
I'm sorry my blog is screwed up and it won't let me fix how it's highlighted or the color of the text.
