I personally don’t watch much television, when I have free time and just want to hang out I’ll usually just watch Netflix. With normal television you have to wait on commercials, you can’t stop it from playing, and you have to wait for a show that you want to come on in the first place. I think that TV can provide a good form of entertainment because many people enjoy a break from their own lives, but at the same time it doesn’t really do anything for you mentally or physically. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing considering everybody needs a break every now and then. I do think that the fact that more people are concerned with the Emmy Awards than with the Nobel Peace Prize is a little disappointing. It shows clearly how shallow our society has become and that we are more interested with trivial things that anything that truly matters.
