Good vs. evil has been the plot of most if not all stories, but there is, by no means, a clear distinction between good and evil; it is a fine line that everyone crosses. For instance, say some man, let’s call him Joe, steals some food from a grocery store. Is he good or evil? Well the obvious answer would be evil, no question about it, but if you pay more attention to the full story, is it so clear cut between good or evil? Let’s say Joe had a family, and that family was starving and on the brink of death, but he had no money and no food, what would you do? Obviously you want to keep your family alive, so Joe stole some food to do just that. So Joe seems like a good person now, right? But the owner of the store Joe stole food from lost money and their business couldn’t do as well as they could be, so Joe also seems like a bad guy. But Joe is neither evil nor good, he is somewhere in the gray area in between, like everyone else is. Joe was an average person with good intentions, but could only achieve his intentions with a bad action. No one is either evil or good, like everyone else, Joe had a bit of good and a bit of evil, but just because he portrays a little bit of one trait doesn’t mean he’s an evil person or a good person. Everyone lives in a gray area where each person does good and bad things everyday, so it’s only in stories that there can be a clear distinction of good and evil.
