Daryn Smith Assignment 19

Rubeus Hagrid's father once said "I am what I am, and I’m not ashamed. There’s some who’ll hold it against you, but they’re not worth botherin’ with." This is advice I have held very close to me, particularly when considering recent events that show so much hatred and contempt for people who are different from them. Entire races and religions are being oppressed by our government and discriminated against and verbally attacked by large groups.  In a society where it is so difficult to please others, advice like this is very important to stick with and live by. People who have a problem with who you are really aren't worth worrying about. Sometimes I find myself losing confidence because of a desire for others' approval, but this quote has always stuck with me to remind me to stay true to myself and not allow others to get me down. People who don't appreciate you and respect you for who you are aren't worth your time. In today's world, this is very important to remember.
