Assignment 18: Lena Ilagan

  1.  If I were to finish High School without at least once having a genuine leadership position, formal or informal, I would be rather sad.  It's not even for college applications, just for my own self achievement.  I want to be recognized by my peers and superiors as someone who knows what they're doing and where they're going.  Though it may not seem like it, I am an unapologetic people pleaser.  I just want to please the right people.  My ultimate goal is to help my classmates succeed in some way at school, and get some form of credit for it, whether that be through leading a club, or simply leading tutoring sessions.
  2. By the end of college, I would like to have written a book about my parents.  To me, they have lived some of the most interesting and complex lives, and have some way or another ended up here in a nice town living the American dream.  It would be a bit of a disgrace not to honor them in some way (holy smokes that sounds so asian), but really, they deserve it.  I would be spitting on everything they gave me if I had.  Also, if it was a hit, it would definitely help pay off my college tuition.
  3. When I am old and wrinkly and sitting in a rocking chair on the front porch of my picturesque, two story house on the New England Coast, wealthy from the life insurance of my highly successful spouse who died from an untimely and unanticipated death, I will look back on my life, hopefully with great happiness, all the while telling young whippersnappers to get off my lawn.  However, none of that would ever happen if I never met a wealthy, single lawyer or doctor or CEO, preferably in their mid fifties to sixties, who tragically lost their spouse and was in dire need of a close companion.  I would then swoop in, saving them from the eternal pit of despair and loneliness, providing them care and companionship until their death.  My life would not be complete unless I found myself a sweet sweet sugar spouse.
