How to Dance-
Dancing takes up a majority of my time. At least fifteen
hours a week to be exact. While I may not be perfect at dancing, I do know a
thing or two about how to be at least moderately good in this art form. The
first thing I would recommend is to watch other people dance. Whether that is
watching YouTube videos or going to local performances, watching others dance
will help you to create your own style and know exactly what type of dance is
best suited for you. Next, I would suggest actually signing up for a dance
class. This can be at a local dance studio. The instructors will help teach you
the basics and you can work your way up from there. Before you attend the class,
however, you should go to a dance store and purchase some clothes and shoes
that are appropriate for whichever style you plan to take. I would also recommend
stretching for at least fifteen minutes before you go to class, as you do not
want to pull a muscle or harm yourself. When at the classes, pay attention to
the instructors and listen to their critiques. Try to apply solutions to your
corrections whenever you can. You should also enjoy yourself. Dance is about
responding to the music and everyone has his or her own style. There is no “right”
way to dance. Just feel the music and let it take you away. Lastly, I would
suggest to just keep practicing and working hard.
