Assignment 19- Saurav Khadka
In my short 16 years on this good Earth, I have received countless bits of advice on countless topics. From hearing "It is best to be a doctor and I highly advise you to be nothing else" as I came out of the womb, to "Don't do drugs and alcohol, they are the bane of society" in my teenage years now. Most of these have just flown over my head as they are just cliche or I just don't have an interest in them. However, during 8th grade, as my grandpa was battling cancer, he told me "I don't regret anything, neither should you." I don't think he was particularly trying to advise me, but rather just speaking to me abstractly. It stuck to me though and made me think. As we go through lives, we do things that looking back on it may have caused harmful effects, but since it is already done, there is no point in regretting the past. Rather, embrace it and make the best of it. Ever since, when an event transpires that may cause detriment, I fathom over how to fix it but never whether I should've done something else.
