Nicole Loy- Assignment 13

Deciding who should be President is never easy. Especially in these days where your choices can range from a criminal to a television show host. At the end of the day your vote won’t even matter with the popular vote not actually determining the winner. Enough is enough. Change must be radical. Some may say the best solution is to get rid of the Electoral College, but I have another. Let’s get rid of it all. I propose that we adopt a new means of choosing our next Commander in Chief. I believe the best way of deciding who our President will be is to throw all of the candidates in an arena, give them a knife, and let them fight to the death. Not only will this allow them to show their cunningness and agility, necessary qualities of our future leader, but it will cut down the competition quickly instead of the slow, grueling process of debates that we currently have. In times like today, we must come up with a system that is brand new. I say we move forth “hunger games style.” Opponents of this idea may claim that it’s disturbing, violent, and generally un-American. But what these uncreative idealists don’t understand is that fighting is how our nation began and fighting is how our nation will persevere. This is the only method that ensures our presidents will be elected fairly. We must fight for our right to be elected as president.
