Assignment 14- Paige Barricklow
My family has a lot of really odd traditions, especially when it comes to the holidays. One of the most interesting is advent/Christmas. For us, the "holiday season" starts with the first Sunday of advent when we go pick out our Christmas tree. Then the next Sunday we put on the lights. The next Sunday we put on the garland. The last Sunday of advent we put on the ornaments. Then on Christmas eve most of my family works the early family Christmas eve family service. Then we have 4 of our close family friends over to our house to have tacos before we go to late candlelight service at my church. On Christmas morning we wake up and do the presents for just me, my mom, my dad, and my brother. Then my grandparents and my aunt (dad's side) come over and do presents and breakfast. Then we go to somewhere in Indiana and meet my mom's family and have dinner, which usually consists of SpaghettiOs, pigs in a blanket, cheese and crackers, and chips with dip. We then go home and listen to Christmas music while sitting in our living room. Even if my family has really odd traditions, I love them, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
