Nicole Loy- Howdy
My name is Nicole Loy. I was born in Lexington on October 10, 1999. I take pride in being alive for three months during the twentieth century. One of my goals is to live in three centuries. All I have to do is live to be 100 and 3 months old. I am a mix of ethnicities but the one that I am mostly made up of and take the most pride in is my Norwegian heritage. I've visited Norway and it's honestly the most amazing place. I love history and want to attend Princeton University as a history major (yes I realize it's a hard school to get into). I also plan on living in New York as an international lawyer; however, I want to travel all of the time. My academic goals for this year are to get straight A's and receive a 5 on all of my AP tests. A personal goal of mine for this year is to relax more and stress less. I want to make junior year the best and do more stuff with my friends. My summer vacation was honestly amazing. I got to visit England for a week, but the best part of my summer was New York. I attended Columbia University's Summer Program for High School Students and got to live on campus for three weeks. My curfew was eleven or midnight every night, but besides that we had total freedom to explore the city. I got to participate in a trial advocacy course which culminated in a mock trial at a federal court house. The best part, though, was meeting people from all over the world. I became super close with a girl from San Francisco and a girl from Germany and even had a guy in my class who was from Prestonsburg, Kentucky (I soon discovered that I had had a conversation with him before at KUNA). The class taught me a lot about what I want to do and what my strengths and weaknesses are. The people in the program taught me that you can be from all over the world yet still be very similar. The program also reaffirmed my desire to move to New York after law school. If I could pick a super power, it would be time travel. I love history, so my reasons for choosing this are obvious. Also, I really want to know what happens to the human race after I'm long gone.
The photo below is of me and my friend from San Francisco in front of Alma Mater at Columbia's Low Library. The link below is my favorite website (sorry wiki is great for looking up basic info- which I do all the time).
