Assignment 2- Saurav Khadka

Technology is a major part of the twenty-first century world. And like everyone else on Earth, I am dependent on it for almost everything from buying food to doing homework. I think we are better off because of the advancement in technology because it makes doing tasks that were tedious and time consuming before more efficient. For me, writing is a struggle as people cannot always read my handwriting so with the transition to doing most things on word or powerpoint helps me get my message across without the barrier that is my handwriting. Like almost everything good, technology does have its bad side. With ever growing relevance of social media sites like Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook, we live in a world where more and more kids are being bullied through the internet. Cyberbullying is easier for bullies to do as they can hide behind the screen, and a lot of the times they don't even realize they are bullying. Had I grown up twenty years earlier, I would have been more social and interactive due to not being reliant on the internet and technology and having to go out and interact with people more on a personal level. This is why I would've preferred to grow up in that time period because our generation lacks that facet of social development more than any generation before us. In the future, I see no signs of technological advancement and society's reliance on technology decreasing. As a result, we are soon going to be in a world that is completely dependent on technology so much so that machines will be able to do work that humans used to do, causing mass unemployment.
