Assignment 23- Annie Varner

Dancing is like my all time favorite thing to do.  If you are with the right people, it becomes a common interest and is even exercise.  You know you're really havin a good time when your face is dripping in sweat but no one cares.  Studies have shown that people who dance are happier, smarter and less stressed on average.  This can include a wide range of dances from ballet to jazz to simply moving your body to your favorite song.  I am actually a terrible dancer, but somehow it made it up there with my favorite pastimes.  Uncoordinated movement is what I LIVE for, and I made a playlist with all the right songs.

Btw please don't judge my spotify, it has a SCARY range of artists and genres that I can't explain and wont try to.  im working on it.

I hope you don't consider my playlist a dolt playlist, because these songs legitimately are some of the best to dance to.  To begin, "Love Train" by the O'Jays.  This jem is a classic boogie song.  It's like the song I want to play at my wedding and clear the dancefloor for me and my dad to take over.  The motown vibe is definitely much different from the rap and pop that we will look at in some of the other songs, but "Love Train" is truly insipiring.  Just take a look at the lyrics: "People all over the world, join in, start a love train, love train".. ... just yes.  Too good.

Next is Vanilla Ice's "Ice Ice Baby".  Might be the whitest song EVER produced.  You know its a family-friendly jam when your mom knows it better than you.  Anyways, this rap track is really fun when you know the words to sing along to.  It is long so it's one of those songs you skip half-way through, but it's super fun nonetheless.

Okay, CHERUB is literally the king of dance music.  One of the kings.  There are several kings, but he is one of them.  "Doses & Mimosas" starts off with a progressive, slower beat until it develops to the climax and everyone goes crazy, screaming the chorus: "TO all the BITCH ASS HOES that hate me the most oh yeah i hate you toOOOO" Sooooo good. need me some of that.

"Aint no Mountain High Enough" comin in hot at #4, this show stopper is sure to get your grandpa on his feet.  This one needs little explanation, once you listen you're hooked, and there is no turning back.  You leave the song feeling empowered and strong, like, yeah, there really AINT no mountain high enough, i can do whatever i want!!

Maybe the most iconic dancing songs of all time: Earth, Wind and Fire's "September".  Some of my fondest memories involve this masterpiece; blasting this song on family road trips to wedding receptions to home alone in the kitchen, I can't seem to get enough of the 21st of September.  I actually had a crazy idea, to have a themed dance party on the 21st of September.  How insane would that be???

There are several more equally as good songs on the playlist, but i think these 5 perfectly encapsulate the nature of it as a whole, and that is to DANCE!!! So go out there Mr. Logsdon, and dance your heart out.
