I was listening to Drake and he hits me with this line

“Oh well, guess you lose some and win some. Long as the outcome is income”

I was awed at not only his lyrical wit but at the depth of his wisdom. The line really made me think. There are plenty of situations where people overreact or they can’t handle the results of something. They make the situation a lot worse than is really necessary. They don’t realize that “you lose some and win some.” They don’t realize that you can’t win it all, that sometimes you have to lose. The important thing to do is keep your eye on the bigger picture. For drake his bigger picture is wealth, but it doesn’t have to be the same for everyone. The bigger picture to focus on is unique to everyone, but everyone should have one. Drake has taught me a lot over the years, but this line really hit home. I don’t focus on the little things anymore because I understand that I will “lose some and win some” but it doesn’t matter as long as the “outcome is income”. You know I want it all, and then some.
